Filming Day!

On Sunday 17th November we filmed our trailer. The day started at 11am and we filmed through until 7:30pm. Filming took place at my house so I set up with the the scenes on the wall with who was going to be in it, a description and the makeup/costumes/props that were in that scene.

We went through the first scenes of the trailer each member of our group taking turns to film at different angles and with different lightings so that we could all get our ideas into it.

Because I was in charge of doing our casts makeup, we set up a system where I would do a character's makeup and then Lois and Remi would take them to film the scene. Once everyone was done with their individual scenes, we set off around 5:30pm to a field in Roydon to film other scenes which had to be taken a night with lighting. These scenes were originally meant to be set in a forest but because of the time of year in which we were filming the night got darker a lot quicker than we anticipated and we did not have the equipment to film in that darkness, so instead we shot them in a field where our lighting was of better use.

Our day of filming ended with myself filming the Ouija Board/Camp fire scens from the beginning of the trailer. We took our time with this trying out different angles and lightings, and using different proxemics for the characters. Some things did not work out, such as when we filmed from a long angle as originally planned, when it was watched back it was much to dark to be seen.

Ouija Boards

As our trailer focusses around a Ouija Board one of the main things that we had to do was make one. We looked into a few different ways of doing this, from carving it into wood to printing one off.
Before designing the board in which we wanted we did research into the different ones out there and what we wanted to include in outs.

Some designs are quite simple...
Where as others can include a lot more detail on them. These decorations and embelishments would usually have some kind of significance to the board themselves. This gave us the idea to include out Ouija symbol on the board which has an important role throughout the story of the move.

Getting Ready...

We have cast our movie trailer with eight people, two boys and six girls. Together we will go throw scripts and costumes before hand so that everyone knows what they will be doing on the day. This will save time on the ctually shooting day.
Also at this meeting we will discuss things such as photography, interviews and bloopers which we will be putting onto the movies website at a later day. We want to do this all on the sames days as shooting as it will give as more if a fluent and in syn look, plus it will be more realistic then trying to get our cast back to Peter for further shoots later in the stage.
